Hand crafted typography for the location cards in Quantum of Solace by the rather awesome tomato Its about time someone did something really interesting with the location cards, as Bond has always had very strong routes in motion design with its intros, so Im really glad their carrying on the graphical appreciation forward.
An animated music video which has been entirely made from knitting each frame ooooh I can feel the pain ust looking at it. Its beautiful :)
Little Big Planet is getting all the buzz at the moment in the gaming world and rightly so its about time ps3 showed invention into the next gen gaming world.
Now that my animation is pritty much done I have had time to play some games, starting with the atmasphoric and distrubing Dead Space. Its about time someone took the survival horror genre to space.
PLOT:One night at a bar, an old friend tells director Ari about a recurring nightmare in which he is chased by 26 vicious dogs. Every night, the same number of beasts. The two men conclude that there's a connection to their Israeli Army mission in the first Lebanon War of the early eighties. Ari is surprised that he can't remember a thing anymore about that period of his life. Intrigued by this riddle, he decides to meet and interview old friends and comrades around the world. He needs to discover the truth about that time and about himself. As Ari delves deeper and deeper into the mystery, his memory begins to creep up in surreal images.
Im really looking forward to seeing this animation, Its always great too see an animation really push the genre even further and at the same time tackle adult themes.
Ive always been a fan of fellow manc Danny Boyle his new film, looks like true heart breaking cinema, enitally when I heard the plot i had trouble understanding where it was going to go but after hearing him talk on the beeb I was sold. Im really jealous that america gets it before us.
Here is a nifty little music video directed by Andre Maat & Superelectric for the band Kraak & Smaak it uses the a really novel use of flick books, I kept thinking of the printing costs while i was watching it.
Michael Dougherty directed this awesome looking horror flick, its exactly my cup of tea, as its similar intone to EC comic books and the Creep Show.
warner brothers has apparently messed about with the distribution so who knows when were going to get it here in the UK. their also hints the film will go straight to DVD, which is a real shame as their are so many terrible horror films getting distribution.
I got an awesome book about the filming of the movie which you can buy over at amazon.
The film was based upon an animation Dougherty made while studying 'seasons greetings'
This really is a similar tone to the Johnny Caddilac story im fleshing out.
Ive set up camp at the parents as i have too look after my little pooch for a bit (i didn't want her to go to the kennels). I have changed some aspects of the animation to fit in with the overall tones of it. The trees aren't all going to be the same color and will tie more to the scrap book feel I want it too have. Ive also made the lighting better :)
Didn't mean to post this on here arr well carry on...
I am currently ill at the moment. So when ive not been compositing ive been rendering or watching JJ ABRAMS new tv show Fringe
While I am enjoying the show I still cant think of Joshua Jackson as Pacey from Dawson creek.
Im also watching the new heroes, im wrestling with it and my final conclusion is its better than the second by a little bit, but I really really hate it when writers have obviously thrown their papers up in the air and see what lands on top. Their is just to many character changes.
With Chalie Kauffmans new movie about to come out
I watched Adaptation for the first time, I have no idea why I haven't seen this before I love Spike Jonze I think Nick Cage put me off for some reason. This was by far my favorite cage performance followed by Raising Arizona.
Björk new video is immense everything has been thrown into this. She just constantly churns out great videos.
